The aim of the research is to identify the level of awareness of the requirements of sustainable development among students of the College of Education for Pure Sciences. The descriptive research method was adopted, and the research sample consisted of (250) students from the College of Education for Pure Sciences / Ibn Al-Haytham, University of Baghdad, from the Department of Chemistry (fourth stage). The morning and evening studies for the academic year 2021/2022 by (79%) of the research community were chosen by the simple random method. The research tool was represented by a measure of awareness of the requirements of sustainable development of (45) items, whose validity and reliability were verified, the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS+) was adopted. 22) To extract the results, the statistical results showed that the students have awareness of the requirements of sustainable development with a high level in the cognitive field, a weak level in the emotional field and an average level in the skill field. The researcher recommended activating the emotional side towards the requirements of sustainable development by adopting teaching methods that provide opportunities for students to interact with the local environment And activating the skill side by paying attention to university activities related to the social environment and transforming them into practical practices that contribute to preserving the environment.
