Abstract
Islamic art is one of the most distinctive artistic systems in terms of its balance between concentration and diffusion. In Islamic art, concentration equates, from its perspective, with unity and order. Concentration in Islamic art refers to focusing on a central point or axis, creating a sense of balance and stability in Islamic visual arts.
As for diffusion in Islamic art, it corresponds to infinity and repetition, as it is represented in the repeated distribution of decorations that fill spaces without emptiness, which creates a sense of extension and infinity. Accordingly, the researchers relied on the interaction between concentration and diffusion to read it aesthetically in Islamic plastic productions. From this came the question of the research problem (What are the manifestations of concentration and diffusion in Islamic art?)
Accordingly, the study aimed to (identify the concentration and diffusion in Islamic art at the level of form and content). The theoretical framework then consisted of two axes, addressing (first: concentration and diffusion: a conceptual approach; second: formation in Islamic art). Three models were then analyzed in the third chapter, which included the research procedures. The fourth chapter then concluded with the research results and conclusions. Among the most important findings were:
1- Centering in Islamic art represents the visual manifestation of the idea of spiritual centrality, while diffusion breaks down spatial barriers through repetitive patterns.
2- Islamic art displays a unique balance between order and controlled chaos, as centering organizes artistic space through precise symmetry, while diffusion breaks down barriers through the overlapping and intertwining of patterns.
The most important conclusions are:
- Through its concentration and diffusion, Islamic art demonstrates a unique ability to blend mathematical precision with spiritual beauty.
