Abstract
The research aims to find out the effect of the guided and semi-directed discovery methods on learning the skills of the forward serve from below and receiving the serve with volleyball among female students. The researcher used an experimental design with equal groups with a pre- and post-test. The research sample consisted of (56) female students who were randomly selected from fourth-grade students from Al-Karama High School for Girls. The sample was divided into three groups (36), namely (the first and second experimental groups and the third control group), and each group consisted of (12) female students. The educational program continued for (8) weeks using two educational units each week. After completing the educational program, the researcher reached several conclusions, the most important of which is that the use of the guided and semi-guided discovery methods regularly and continuously, as well as the use of explanatory posters showing each skill, as well as the use of the principle of gradual exercises, all of this led to achieving a positive role over (8) continuous weeks in the educational units and played an effective role in learning both skills (forward serve from below and receiving serve in volleyball). The researcher recommends the necessity of using the guided and semi-guided methods because of their effectiveness in improving the performance of forward serve from below and receiving serve in volleyball.
