Abstract
Islamic art is a decorative art, and Islamic decoration encompasses a deep vision of the universe and its Creator. Decorative formations served as a religious meaning, feeding the imagination of the Muslim artist, in constructing visions and aesthetic data concerned with the sanctity of Islamic art. Art education tried to contribute to preserving the identity of this decorative art, and preserving the heritage of our Islamic civilization, by empowering the student with multiple methods and techniques. To achieve the decorative units clearly and accurately in the artistic work on the one hand, and to preserve the aesthetic system and artistic vision of these decorative arts on the other hand.
The research community included (203) decorative designs implemented by secondary school students, distributed in the schools of Al-Hilla Center/Babylon. For the purpose of achieving more accurate results, and to fulfill the goal of the research, the researcher selected five samples, and in her analysis she adopted the descriptive analytical method, which is concerned with monitoring and analyzing phenomena for the purpose of revealing scientific and objective facts thanks to its accuracy.

The decorative designs implemented by secondary school students were subject to the principle of abstraction, as the students were able to transform natural shapes and formulate their decorative elements. To reveal the infinite and the infinite.
The decorative formations came bearing the principle of compatibility between the external and the internal. Islamic decorations, as an intellectual structure, were linked to the artistic and functional dimensions.
The aesthetics of decorative formations appear through their connection to the data of the design systems for decorative elements and the foundations that connect them.
