Abstract
In light of growing environmental and economic challenges, the green economy has become an effective solution for promoting sustainable development by reducing harmful environmental impacts and improving the utilization of natural resources. Universities are among those that can play a pivotal role in this field, given their role in generating knowledge, promoting scientific research, and implementing practices that contribute to environmental sustainability Improving the university environment and ensuring its sustainability is a priority that requires strategies based on the rational use of resources, reducing pollution, and promoting innovative environmental solutions. As centers of research and innovation, universities have the potential to positively impact this area through specialized educational curricula, environmental initiatives, and policies implemented on campus This research aims to examine the role of the green economy in developing and sustaining the university environment. It does so by analyzing concepts associated with the green economy, reviewing successful experiences of some universities that have adopted effective environmental policies, and evaluating the impact of implementing sustainable environmental practices on the quality of university life. The research also seeks to provide a set of recommendations that contribute to accelerating the adoption of green strategies in academic institutions, thus contributing to achieving long-term environmental and development goals.
