Abstract
The research aimed to study government spending and attempt to follow a policy based on rationing spending by managing public money efficiently and avoiding extravagance, extravagance, and random spending by spending units far from the foundations of sectoral and spatial development, which contributes to hedging against external shocks, And reaching an efficient and fair budget for the country that achieves the economic and social dimensions. Therefore, the deductive approach was followed using the descriptive analytical method by analyzing the ratios of the components of public spending, both current and investment, for the period (2003-2022), This included an analysis of current spending to determine the necessary expenditures from the less necessary expenditures, as well as an analysis of investment spending to determine the impact it had on production and services. This required the use of data, statistics, and financial reports, in order to develop realistic recommendations for decision-makers, contrary to what was previously discussed in the papers.
