Abstract
Iraqi universities, whether governmental or private, have not yet reached what is known as qualitative evaluation of educational outcomes and the development of statistical indicators that would help the decision maker to draw up new policies to raise the level of university performance. Relying on graduation rates as a basis for evaluation does not give the complete truth. The limits of the research are to conduct a qualitative evaluation of the outcomes of Kut University College in light of the performance of its graduate students for the academic year (2020-2021). The results were studied on the basis of four criteria, the first of which was the general average in the college and the student averages in its departments. The overall average in the college was (69.95) and the number of graduating students in it was (418) male and female students. Secondly, the moderation of the distribution of grades among the graduating students was discussed, which is the closest thing to a moderate distribution. . The third criterion is knowing the extent of the dispersion of the graduate students’ grades, as the range was between (19.91 - 34.50) and the standard deviation was between (5.65 - 6.95), and this dispersion is not much. The fourth criterion was to convert the graduate students’ averages into z-scores in order to clarify that relying on the graduation rate may not be an expression of the students’ true level, and there is a z-score that is closest to the truth.
