To pave the way for the development of the concept of economic empowerment in order to advance the status of women in Iraq. The research relied on the questionnaire method to study the indicators and obstacles to women’s economic empowerment. The results of the questionnaire showed that the indicators of women’s economic empowerment in Iraq are still low and that the factors most hindering the process of empowerment are economic obstacles. Political and personal, providing job opportunities appropriate to women’s abilities and skills, as well as taking into account their social circumstances, in order to provide decent living opportunities and provide the minimum level of well-being to their family members.
