Abstract

The current research (War Scenes and their Manifestations in Assyrian Art) dealt with the war scenes, which were evident in the aesthetic structure of sculptural works during the Assyrian era. In the first chapter, the problem of the research, its importance, the need for it, and the goal of the research were clarified, which represented: “To know the scenes of wars and their manifestations in Assyrian Art.” The aforementioned chapter concluded by defining terms that are directly related to the research title. The second chapter included a presentation of the theoretical framework, and consisted of two sections. The first section was the concept of conflicts that resulted in war scenes in ancient Iraqi history.
 The second section deals with scenes of wars and conflicts: an approach to Assyrian art. As for the third chapter, monitoring the research community and the tool, samples were taken intentionally, and they amounted to (3) sculptural works, adopting the descriptive and analytical approach. As for the fourth chapter, it included the results of the research, which stated: - The war scenes were evident in the Assyrian artist’s ability to adopt the realistic method in embodying human bodies. Then came the conclusions that revealed the possibility of achieving the research objectives, including: The intellectual reflections of the Assyrian sculptor contributed to the diversity of war scenes at the level of (three-dimensional or relief sculpture).
