Abstract
This research aims to identify the level of the application of institutional accreditation standards in two researched universities (Karkh for Science and Al-Farahidi Al-Ahliyya University) and this study came to apply two axes (students and curricula) of the eight axes of institutional accreditation. The problem of the study is what is the reality of applying institutional accreditation standards in Iraqi public and private universities. The study aims to identify the reality of the application of institutional accreditation standards in Iraqi public and private universities, and in order to achieve this goal, the comparative study approach was adopted to make a comparison between the two researched universities using a set of tools to determine the data, including field visits, direct observation, the formation of checklists developed according to the paragraphs of the two axes (indicators), and the use of mathematical equations to analyze the weights of these indicators and collect them, To extract the application ratios and gaps, the study found that there are differences in the performance of the two universities and this is illustrated by the percentages of the size of the gap of the Karkh University of Science for the two axes of the adult .the study found that there are differences in the performance of the two universities and this is illustrated by the percentages of the size of the gap of the Karkh University of Science for the two axes (41%, 43%) is the lowest compared to Al-Farahidi National University, where a gap for the two axes (54%, 56%).
